A-Plant Accommodation Places £3.2 Million Order
A-Plant Accommodation has placed one of its largest ever single orders for static and mobile welfare units. The company has invested £3.2 million in accommodation units manufactured by Genquip as part of a major fleet investment and enhancement programme for A-Plant’s Accommodation Division.
In addition, a further £8 million will be invested in A-Plant’s Accommodation fleet over the next 12 months. The Genquip order comprises of more than 100 Groundhog mobile welfare units which are easily towed, secured and manoeuvred on-site in less than three minutes and accommodate up to six people. Ideal for use by contractors, they provide comfortable site accommodation whilst remaining lightweight and compact.
With safety in mind, as the majority of the units tend to be parked at the side of the road during contracts, the new Groundhog mobile welfare units have all been fitted with bespoke Chapter 8 chevrons to one end. This makes the units as visible as possible to other vehicles.
The order also comprises a number of 12 Volt mobile site accommodation units which offer a green environmental solution. These state-of-the-art towable units utilise less fuel, a 60% reduction in generator servicing, a longer generator life, fewer breakdowns and massively reduced noise pollution. A number of ECO static welfare units have been added to the fleet. These units have the optimum ‘A’ Energy Performance Asset rating, providing energy efficient site accommodation with high specification features such as full flush toilets, double glazing, extra insulation and significantly reduced carbon dioxide emissions.
Ian Needham, Director of Accommodation at A-Plant said: “Genquip units are highly innovative and industry-leading and they will no doubt serve our customers very well. Our customers are demanding products that offer benefits in terms of sustainability and these units offer a multitude of energy and water saving features.”
A-Plant Accommodation offers a hire fleet of over 16,000 units, from a single cabin to fully linked site complexes, through dedicated Accommodation Service Centres across the UK.
